The BOB-LIFT SQ1Z-E is a 1 ton electric mini crane, offered with wireless remote control (SQ1Z-ER) or manual lever control (SQ1Z-EM). A 1200 W electric-hydraulic power unit on a 12 V supply drives the boom luffing, boom extension and 360° slewing, so no truck power take-off is needed. The load chart rates it at 1,000 kg at 1.2 m, 500 kg at 2 m, 200 kg at 2.8 m, with a maximum hook height of 3.1 m. It can be mounted on a vehicle or fixed in place, and the crane alone weighs 235 kg.
What the model name means
In SQ1Z-E, SQ is the BOB-LIFT crane prefix, 1 is the rated capacity in tonnes (1,000 kg), Z marks the knuckle (folding) boom and E marks the electric drive. A last letter names the control: SQ1Z-EM for manual levers, SQ1Z-ER for wireless remote. The 2 ton version of the same design is the SQ2Z-E.
How much it lifts at each reach
Like every crane, a mini crane lifts less the further the hook moves out. The SQ1Z-E lifts its full 1,000 kg only up to 1.2 m from the slewing centre. At 2 m the limit is 500 kg, and at the full 2.8 m reach it is 200 kg. Plan each lift from the chart, not from the 1 ton rating: a 1,000 kg load must be picked close to the column.

Electric drive with its own battery
The crane carries an electric-hydraulic power unit: a 1200 W 12 V DC motor, a pump and an oil tank in one block at the foot of the column. The usual battery is a 12 V 60 Ah pack. On the factory unit it sits in a frame beside the power unit with its own mains charger, so the crane can work where there is no vehicle power, such as on a workshop floor or a dock.
The power unit is built for intermittent lifting, the stop-and-go work of loading and unloading. It is not meant for hours of non-stop cycling. On battery power, long runs of back-to-back lifts drain the battery, so recharge it between jobs.
Two control options: SQ1Z-EM and SQ1Z-ER
The SQ1Z-E comes with either of two controls, on the same crane, power unit and boom:
- SQ1Z-ER, wireless remote: a handheld remote with a start and stop button and six motion buttons: boom up and down, extend and retract, slew left and right. Each button works a solenoid valve on the crane, so one operator can stand where the load is easiest to see, guide it with a free hand and set it down without a helper calling signals.
- SQ1Z-EM, manual levers: one lever each on the valve bank beside the column for boom up and down, extend and retract, and slewing. There is no radio link to pair, charge or replace, which suits buyers who want the simplest machine and an operator who stands at the crane during every lift.
Boom, slewing and mounting
- Luffing: a hydraulic cylinder raises and lowers the boom, which changes both the hook height and the working radius.
- Extension: the second boom section extends and retracts hydraulically, taking the reach from 1.2 m to 2 m. The third section is a manual extension arm, pinned out by hand for the full 2.8 m reach.
- Slewing: a hydraulic motor turns the column on a toothed slewing ring for 360° rotation. A load can be picked from the ground beside the vehicle and swung onto the deck without moving the vehicle.
- Mounting: vehicle-mounted or fixed. The base plate bolts down, with no welding and no changes to the vehicle. With the boom lowered and retracted, the crane measures 750 × 520 × 1570 mm (L × W × H) and takes up little deck space.
- Base cart option: the crane is also offered on a base cart with side outriggers (285 kg, 1450 × 900 × 1680 mm overall).
- Hook: a swivel hook with a safety latch at the boom head; there is no winch, so the hook height is set by luffing and extending the boom.
Where it is used
Buyers use this class of crane wherever loads are too heavy to carry by hand but too small to justify a large crane:
- Loading and unloading pickups and light trucks: moulds, machine parts and building materials.
- Repair workshops: lifting engines, gearboxes and heavy components.
- Farms and orchards: farm machinery parts, fertiliser and materials.
- Solar installation, municipal maintenance and small building sites.
Safe use and care
- Never exceed the load at the working radius on the chart, and never side-pull or drag a load.
- Bolt the base to a structure strong enough for the crane’s lifting moment (1.2 t·m at 1.2 m).
- Keep the open slewing ring and pivot pins greased. Outdoors, mud and grit wear the ring and the cylinder seals faster.
- Wear parts such as cylinder seals, pins and bushings are standard sizes. We supply them under the 12-month warranty and afterwards.
